Physical Description: Lorenzo is tall and lean, with mixed Asian and Hispanic heritage. When lounging around with friends where there are no odds of meeting attractive women, he chooses t-shirts and varsity sweatshirts. Family: Lorenzo is an only child. His father was/is a construction worker, and his mother is a kindergarten teacher now that Lorenzo's grown. As a teenager, he often butted heads with his father who had thought that Lorenzo would take on a similar career. But once his father realized that Lorenzo was intellectually gifted, he encouraged him to apply for a scholarship and pursue a college degree in hopes that he would have a better future. The Oum family lives frugally on a lower income, which means that Lorenzo picked up several similar money-saving tactics.
Education: Most of Lorenzo's peers and teachers didn't recognize how smart Lorenzo truly was (and neither did he), because he hated studying and often lost/ignored homework assignments. As a child, he didn't think school would be important because he could learn everything he needed to know from his dad. He'd planned on being a carpenter. But as he reached puberty, he realized he liked girls A LOT, and that meant he needed a car, better clothes, all that stuff -- which meant more money. He decided he wanted something a little more prestigious, and seeing how well his best friend's parents were doing as scientists, he decided to pursue science in earnest. Turns out he could be more than competent when he really applied himself. He didn't graduate with a 4.0 GPA, but he did pull himself up significantly. His performance on aptitude and placement exams landed him a scholarship opportunity in New York, where he majored in physics. He took a few parapsychology classes as too, mostly because classes were more fun with Kit, and wound up minoring in the subject.

They met in the third grade, where she tagged on his heels after being tickled by a funny story he read aloud to the class about a deer tricking a villainous farmer into eating hay. They were close friends by fourth grade, and inseparable by fifth. After graduating, Lorenzo found himself at a loss as to what he wanted to do with his career. He applied at a few companies, but was always turned down in favor of candidates with more work experience. He wound up working several odd jobs, like pizza delivery, so he could afford silly luxuries like eating food. He moved into an apartment with Kit, who was having similar problems getting hired. Several times he applied for grants to participate in individual scientific studies, but was repeatedly shot down. After being jobless for several months, he figured he had nothing to lose when Kit proposed they go into their own ghostbusting business.
Goals: Lorenzo isn't the type to think too far ahead. He prefers to go with the flow and take care of his immediate needs rather than plan for the future. That said, what he wants most is to be employed and self-sufficient, and to have a romantic relationship longer than two weeks. Ultimately, he wants to earn enough money to take care of his parents so his father can retire and live comfortably.

Strengths: Lorenzo tends to be fairly well-grounded in reality. He considers himself a realist, rather than a pessimist, and is fairly modest as he would rather exceed low expectations instead of failing to meet expectations set too high. He's careful with money (when he has to be) and knows how to make good use of thrift stores and packages of ramen. He's a loyal friend, and has a difficult time saying no when others ask him for help. Even if he doesn't get along with another team member, he would still never forsake that person in times of great need or danger. He's creative and smart, with a quick wit.
